Snapchat is going to release sunglasses that capture 10-30 seconds of video to be shared on their site. While this may not seem like something that is a value to the educational world I do see it as a way to start a conversation about social media with students, and I am excited with what this may mean for the future. Imagine being able to have augmented reality in your classroom by having students put on a pair of glasses. Students could record video of science experiments, conversations in a foreign language, or other experiences that are of educational value and share them for projects. As a teacher, I could wear them and get student data figures when I look at the student. Okay, so we may be a little far away from that happening but the just thinking about it is cool.
